Note the ad painted on the gable end which is very evocative of France at a certain time.

Oddly enough, it appears to be modified from a standard Matford break de chasse - or at least shorter. I’ve found some variation on the design, from a round-capped rear roof to a more squared one, but none with the rear-most window closed in and shorter.

Thierry usually takes care with his illustrations but maybe a bit of artistic licence?

It’s possible - after all, the rounding of the bottom edge of the front door is probably oversight - but is it not also possible that a car with a wholly wooden frame rear construction would be quite easy for a French carpenter to tamper with?

I really like this style of drawing. The style of drawing reminds me of the drawings(sold as puzzles) of Jan van Haasteren for some reason.

Compare this one with the next, and both with the liftgate model I gave a picture of.
Variations in the location of the C-pillar/rear door post seem to have been commonplace, as well as whether they were equipped with wooden front doors or steel and how the rear roof curved. I’d be completely unsurprised if Thierry’s one was quite real.

The cars were built on a separate chassis with the bodies bought in from a coachbuilder so yes, there was quite likely some variation either at the time or afterward.

It’s an oddness thing, mostly. Outside the realm of what appears to have been the normal Ford dealer spec for the coach body, but it was presumably in no way impossible to order such a thing or have it made.
